Matcha For Skin & Body

If you're here, it’s probably because you read the Instagram post about the benefits of Matcha Tea. Please read on & thanks for taking the time to read more!

Matcha tea has bright green leaves, much more so than Green tea, because it is grown in the shade and contains more chlorophyll. After harvesting, Match is dried and then is ground into a fine powder before consumption. The traditional way to make Matcha is by using a ceramic Japanese bowl, a mini colander, a little bamboo scoop (it looks like a mini back scratcher IMO), and a bamboo whisk. Practicing this ritual alone helps me to center into my morning and makes me feel good about what I'm putting into my body. But back to the benefits!

For the Body

  • Regulates the Nervous System - With all the stressors we have in day-to-day life, a little NS regulation goes a long way for the body, mind, and skin.

  • Fight Cancer - High in catechins which are polyphenols that are known to help prevent/fight cancer, aid in liver function, and helps to regulate sebum production.

  • Improves Cognitive Function - Due to the high EGCG content (125x higher than spinach & more than green tea) (ORAC TEST Article) produces more neurons, more neurons = more synaptic connections = better memory = process info better (article from military medical unw China.)

For the skin

  • Prevent Premature Aging - High in antioxidants (10x more antioxidants than Green Tea) which are the guys that fight free radicals, which help prevent sun damage and the breaking down of cells which break down collagen and elastin.

  • Stimulates Micro-Circulation - helping to even out skin tone.

  • Polyphenols - help to fight against environmental stressors on the skin.

  • Reduces inflammation - even known to reduce redness of skin.

And yes, there is still caffeine in it to help with energy but it's a more subtle boost which means a more subtle comedown.

As always, I highly recommend organic tea and coffee along with grapes as they have the highest usage of pesticides.

Thanks for reading.
