What the heck is plant based skin care or green beauty?

Hey there! welcome back to my ramblings. Hopefully you find some of this information posted on this blog a little bit helpful in some way shape or form.

I haven’t always been interested in green beauty. It started happening once I realized all of the pesticides they use on our food (highest pesticides are used on coffee beans and grapes aka wine) and how are soil/earth is slowly diminishing and becoming more and more damaged not being able to hold in proper minerals and nutrients to provide our food with (for more details on that go watch Kiss the Ground on Netflix). So then I started thinking well shit what’s going on my body with the body lotion I use, what’s going on my face with the face products I use. And to top this train of thought off I constantly would notice and still do notice the amount of trash us humans create. So then I strarted researching ingredients HOLY FUCK there’s a lot of shit in our products even those so called “natural” ones. Then I realized that there are so many ingredients that are banned in countries like Europe that are not banned here in the US - so then I was like What the FUCK? Go ahead and google “banned cosmetic ingredients in Europe vs US”. So then i started researching ingredients in highly recommended products like Cetaphil. WOAHHHH No bueno! Nothing in Cetaphil does anything good for your skin, nothing good for your microbiome aka stratum corneum (but that’s another topic). For instance sodium lauryl sulfate - it’s used in household cleaning ingredients, you really wanna put that on your face? So then I was like wow our Doctors are overworked and stressed to the max, that’s the kind of grace I’d rather give them than my first go to which was “they don’t give a shit”.

With all that information I started getting into organic products (of course organic food) that deliver healthy results. I started more training to learn how to bring back the balance of the skin back to a healthy, glowing state. Does it happen over night? NOPE but you know what? Your skin didn’t happen overnight either. I wanted to get back to basics. I wanted to learn to embrace healthy aging. I mean aging is inevitable, it’s not my favorite thing but there’s a healthy and loving way to age. There’s wisdom in aging. And there are ways to address acne and other conditions internally which can lead to a permanent and body connecting way. Plants were put here for a reason, plants are what are here to heal us. Yes I do believe in modern, medical science is necessary also but why not start with plants and minerals?

So here we are 3 + years later and thousand of hours later of invested trainings, courses, and research I use holistic products and techniques to bring healthy skin care and body wellness results that you can use at home. Not to mention products whose packaging can be recycled.

So there ya go holistic and green. Holistic taking the whole body into account because the skin is the largest organ and green because they’re plant based products. That’s what I’m about.

Big Love,

Jen
